Forum: Compiler & IDEs MSPGCC: Neuer Windows-Build ohne Win98-Bug

Lesenswert?

Steve Underwood hat einen neuen MSPGCC-Installer für Windows
fertiggestellt, in dem nun der mit Win98 auftretende gcc-Fehler behoben
sein soll. Hier seine Ankündigung von der Mailingliste:

I have put a new Windows installer for mspgcc on the web site. mspgcc
hasn't been changing much lately, so there isn't a lot of new stuff in
this. However, it has:

GCC updated from 3.2.2 to 3.2.3

GCC patched to work around the mmap memory allocation problem that was
causing crashes.

I hope the giveio install now works OK on NT 4.0, but I am unable to try
it (I have no NT 4.0 machine available).

gdbproxy is now built with an updated library from TI.

Uninstall now works. However, I get an oddity on Win98. Sometimes it
removes the whole thing. Sometimes it leave an empty c:\mspgcc\bin
directory behind. I don't know if this is a quirk of the installer
softawre (NSIS) or something wrong in my script. Anyway, this seems a
minor issue.

I have been running this stuff today on a Win98 and a WinXP machine,
working with a fairly large project (by MCU standards :-) ). Both
machines seem to be building and debugging OK. If anyone has trouble,
please let me know.

The target platforms for this release are Win98, WinMe, Win NT 4.0, Win
2000 and WinXP.
