FoxiOsz Readme
--------------
FoxiOsz is a software to display data from a pen shaped oscilloscope named OsziFox. This scope was developed and sold from a company called Wittig Test Technology in the late 1990s. The scope was also sold as 'ProbeScope' by Radioshack. Unfortunately the software which came with the scope can't access serial ports under Windows XP, which was the reason for me to write FoxiOsz.
FoxiOsz was written for my personal need and is distributed as freeware. There's no warranty for the function of the software or any damages to your system which may be caused by using FoxiOsz.

Menu

With 'File'/'COM-Ports...' you can choose the serial port OsziFox is connected to. The list only shows COM-Ports available on your computer. The chosen value is written into the FoxiOsz.ini and will be the default value at the next start. If there are no COM-Ports (like on many modern computers, especially notebooks) try a USB-to-serial converter.

Scope window(s)
---------------
The main part of the FoxiOsz window is coverd by the scope screen(s). It shows the data measured by OsziFox. When you start FoxiOsz it is in single channel mode. Pressing the '1CH<->4CH' button switches FoxiOsz to four channel mode, so that it is possible to compare periodical signals from different sources triggered by the same puls. At the right side of every scope window you'll see the information at which parameters the signal was captured.

'=', '||' and '#' buttons
-------------------------
These buttons will show borderlines in the scope window of the active channel to measure voltage or time/frequency within the recorded data. Unlocking the buttons will hide the borderlines. To move borderlines click the desired line, move it to the desired position and click again to release it.
'=' shows horizontal borderlines to measure voltage. The voltage is shown on the right side of the scope window.
'||' shows vertical borderlines to measure time/frequency. The time/frequency is shown on the right side of the scope window.
'#' shows horizontal and vertical borderlines. The measured values are shown on the right side of the scope window.

'GR_H' AND 'GR_V' buttons
-------------------------
These buttons are only available in 4CH mode. 'GR_H' means 'group horizontal borderlines' and 'GR_V' means 'group vertical borderlines'. When a button is pressed the position of the borderlines of the active channel is applied to all other channels. The borderlines of all channels are grouped now and moving together. The borderlines are ungrouped again when the button is unlocked.

'1CH<->4CH' button
------------------
Switches FoxiOsz to four channel mode (button locked) and back to single channel mode (button unlocked).

'CH1'-'CH4' radio buttons
-------------------------
With these radio button the active channel is chosen. 'CH2' to 'CH4' are only shown in 4CH mode. Incoming data is displayed at this channel.

'HOLD' button
-------------
When the 'HOLD' button is locked FoxiOsz stopps receiving data from OsziFox until the button is unlocked again.

'CAPTURE'
---------
The 'CAPTURE' button saves the scope window of the active channel as a picture (.PNG) to the FoxiOsz directory. Recording parameters and values measured by borderlines are shown within the picture.
