Forum: Mikrocontroller und Digitale Elektronik question LCD LED IPS

If you store an any IPS LED LCD panel without using it for a long time
(many years), will the pixels develop dead and stuck pixels? Can liquid
crystals settle over time, leading to slow response times or
"stuckness", where they may not change state correctly when turned on
after years of inactivity? Do LEDs and backlights die or lose
efficiency?

When you store an IPS display for more than 150 years, some degradation
can't be ruled out. Fortunately, neither you nor me will be around to
see that.

The max time constant is ($RETIREMENT_AGE-$AGE) This is the reason older
developer become more risk taking :-D

To answer the original question. I think there is a maximal storage
time, but no one can tell it, because it is not only the liquid, it is
also the rubber connection of the glas to the pcb, humidity,
temperature, sealed in nitrogene or not. And even if you only think
about the liquid, it can be different from different glas maker. Another
important point the glue to seal the glas together and how carefully it
is done.
If you look carefuly for example you can find devices that are 20-30
years old where the glas becomes dark.
