Hi Leute,

bei Lidl im Online-Shop gibts grade zum Hammerpreis einen
VOIP-Wlan Router für 7,99 Euro.

Auf dem Gerät läuft Linux, und es gibt ein alternative Open-Source
Firmware mit genialen Zusatzfunktionen.

Da die Kiste intern auch eine serielle Schnittstelle bereithält,
wäre es vielleicht denkbar einen Mikrocontroller anzuschließen, und
z.B. via Telefon und/oder (W)LAN Fernsteuerlösungen zu basteln.

Naja, der Haken ist dass das Gerät technisch nicht
ganz aktuell ist, da es schon vor einigen Jahren eingeführt
wurde.
Allerdings machen Linux, die geniale und noch aktuell gepflegte
Bitswitcher Firmware sowie der unschlagbare Preis dass wieder
nebensächlich.

Die Möglichkeit per Telefonanruf und DTMF-Code via Wake on Lan den PC
zuhause hochzufahren, und im Script gleichzeitig einen Port in der 
Firewall
zu öffnen, ist schonmal sehr nett :)

Hab mir vor ner Weile so ein W500V gebraucht geholt. Nach dem Entfernen 
der separaten VOIP Platine sync'ed es bei meiner grenzwertigen Leitung 
generell deutlich besser, mindestens so gut wie alle anderen Modems die 
ich dran hatte. Außerdem kann man den DSL SNR Margin anpassen, wodurch 
man bei einer rate adaptive Leitung u.U. noch ein wenig mehr Bandbreite 
rausquetschen kann. Da läuft bei mir auch ein modifiziertes Bitswitcher 
drauf. Eigene Images zu bauen ist Dank der Anleitung auf der BS HP 
leicht.

Theoretisch sollte es möglich sein, über diverse GPIOs (für Status LEDs 
etc) auch z.B. ein Software SPI zu implementieren. Viele SD Slot 
Erweiterungen für die Router funktionieren so.

Das Ding ist wirklich die 8 Euro wert :-)

Mal den Vergleich mit einer 7170

- Hat keinen USB-Port für Peripheriegeräte wie Drucker o.ä.
- Hat nur zwei analoge Telephonports (statt drei)
- Scheint kein ISDN zu unterstützen

Der "Rest" sind Softwareunterschiede, die sich, sofern das die 
Speicherkapazität und Rechenleistung der verbauten Hardware zulassen, 
sicherlich nachrüsten lassen:

- Anrufbeantworter (mit Versand als Email, .wav-Attachment)
- Fax-Empfänger (mit Versand als Email, .pdf-Attachment)
- Fax-Versand per Netzwerk-CAPI
- USB-Device-Server mit "virtueller USB-Karte"

Die 7170 hat eine Stromaufnahme von 6 Watt.
