Warum eigentlich nicht gcc 4.01?
Hab zumindest mit 4.00 in der Firma keine Probleme (dass das
Schwimmdock gesunken ist lag an einer verstopften Pumpe, nicht am gcc
:-)).

Laut Aussage von inbesondere Björn Haase (der einiges an den
AVR-seitigen Änderungen beigesteuert hat) und anderen ist der noch
nicht ready for the masses, zumindest für das AVR-target.

Der zweite Bug ist wohl irrelevant, weil wenn ich den Stack sprenge,
läuft das Programm eh nicht.

Beim ersten ist mir nicht klar, welche C-Befehlsfolge den auslöst.

Aber sagt es bitte nicht weiter, bei uns ist die Beleuchtung und
Fahrzeugsteuerung von ganz Skandinavien mit gcc-4.0 gebaut.

Wer NICHTS riskiert erlebt auch NICHTS... :-)
