Asyncroner Timer2 Atmega8

Halli hallo, ich habe nur eine kurze frage..... Im Datenblatt des Atmega 
steht zum Asyn. Mode folgendes :

When AS2 is set, pins TOSC1 and TOSC2 are disconnected from Port B. A 
crystal can then be connected between TOSC1 and TOSC2.......und so 
weiter und so fort.......


dann aber : Applying an external clock Source to TOSC1 is not 
recommended...


nun versteh ich nicht ganz was der Satz bedeuten soll.... Im DS steht 
doch das die 2 Pins für nen 32khz crystal optimiert sind. Will nun einen 
32,xxx khz quarz mit 2 * 22pf an die Pins legen und eben den Timer mit 
laufen lassen.... Geht das jetzt etwa nicht oder bedeutet gilt : 
external clock Source != quarz ???

Genau so ist es. External Clock kommt von einem anderen Bauteil und 
nicht von einem Quarz.

Bist du sicher, dass du bei dem 32,xxx khz quarz noch 2 * 22pf 
Kondensatoren brauchst?

For AVR microcontrollers with Timer/Counter Oscillator pins (TOSC1 and 
TOSC2), the crystal is connected directly between the pins. By 
programming the CKOPT Fuse, the user can enable internal capacitors 
on XTAL1 and XTAL2, thereby removing the need for external capacitors.
The Oscillator is optimized for use with a 32.768 kHz watch crystal. 
Applying an external clock source to TOSC1 is not recommended.
Note: The Timer/Counter Oscillator uses the same type of crystal 
oscillator as Low-Frequency Oscillator and the internal capacitors have 
the same nominal value of 36 pF.

Ja das hab ich auch schon gelesen...hab aber die 2 C´s schon dran :) 
muss ja nicht von den internen kommen....
