Frage zu LTC2756

Hallo,

Ich brauche für meinen Polyphonic Synthesizer Projekt einen 
hochauflösenden Multiplying DAC. Meine Wahl fiel auf den LTC2756 
(18Bit).

Die Schaltung gemäß Datenblatt am ATMEGA32 funktioniert soweit.

Meine Frage lautet wie hoch darf die maximale Referenzspannung sein?

Im Datenblatt steht hier:

Absolute Maximum Ratings
IOUT1, IOUT2 to GND................................................±0.3V
RIN, RCOM, REF, RFB, ROFS, VOSADJ,
GEADJ to GND.......................................................... 
±18V
VDD to GND...................................................–0.3V to 7V
Digital Inputs to GND....................................–0.3V to 7V
Digital Outputs to GND ..... –0.3V to VDD+0.3V (Max 7V)

Kann ich hier gefahrlos 12V an den REF Eingang anlegen?

VDD ist ja nur 5V?

Also, ich habe mir mal ein Datenblatt angesehen 
(http://cds.linear.com/docs/en/datasheet/2756f.pdf).

Dem konnte ich auf Seite 8 das entnehmen:

>REF (Pin 2): DAC Reference Input, and Feedback Resistor
>for the Reference Inverting Amplifier. The external reference
>inverting amplifier sees as its load the 10k DAC reference
>input resistance in parallel with the 20k feedback resistor.
>For normal operation tie this pin to the output of the
>reference inverting amplifier (see the Typical Applications
>section). Typically 5V; accepts up to ±15V.

Laut diesem Text kann man dort normalerweise 5V anschließen, er machts 
aber bis 15V mit.
