Massenabkündigungen bei Maxim?

In einem anderen Thread wurde das Thema auch schon behandelt.
Wie es aussieht, hat Maxim sich von einem Subunternehmer getrennt, der
genau diese Bauteile hergestellt hat.
RoHS wird dann sein Übriges dazubeigetragen haben...

Vor allem frage ich mich, wie das zu deren früherer
"Nicht-Abkündigungs-Garantie" (siehe Anhang) passt.

Hier der Originaltext der Abkündigung von Maxim, die nur auf Anfrage
verschickt wurde, dazu eine 157kByte Excel-Liste:
Last Time Buy
Maxim produces >95% of our products at wafer fabrication facilities
that are fully owned by Maxim while the remainder of our wafer
requirements are supplied by foundries. Maxim has a strong commitment
to not obsolete any products that we have introduced. Because of our in
house wafer manufacturing capability, we have been able to offer a non
obsolescence policy on all Maxim/Dallas devices. Due to unforeseen
circumstances at an outside wafer foundry, we are not able to accept
any new orders for a limited number of parts after March 31, 2006. The
parts that are listed below have been purchased from your company in
the past and we are not able to accept new orders after March 31,
2006.
We would like to offer a last time buy  for these products to you.  We
do not have a limit as to the quantity that we can support on this last
time buy.  The conditions of purchase will be that all orders are NCNR
and all orders must be  requested for shipment within 6 months of order
date.  Please contact your local Maxim sales office if you would like to
place a last time buy for these products.

Das ist das Problem mit Spezialbauteilen. Man hängt dann am Tropf eines
Konzerns, der machen und tun kann, was er will. Je kleiner die Serie
und je länger sie läuft, desto höher das Risiko.

Ein bißchen 'freut' mich das ja, da ich keine MORitze verwende - mit
aus diesem Grund. Das Gleiche wird einem widerfahren, der Igitt als
Hauslieferanten hat - wo ja alles nichts kostet :-)

Bei den Lieferzeiten von Maxim (wir als Disti bekommen Liefertermine,
welche bis >5 Monate weg sind) kann der Kunde auch gleich was anderes
eindesignen! Manche tun das auch und ich kann's verstehen! Maxim sitzt
zu sehr auf dem hohen Ross und kann tun und lassen was sie wollen...
