Timer / Compare need Help !

Hi, I would like to make a clock with AT90S8515-4. Someone told me to 
use the timer1 with output compare mode to incresse accuracy ( timer1 
with overflow in not accurate enough ). So, I am asking what is Output 
Compare mode and how do I use it to generate an interrupt every 116 / 
200 microseconds?
