Can't load "**.hex" file to DS89C420 use software

HI :
   I am going to use DS89C420 !
   when I  use the  Software  "loader420.exe" to  load "hex" file
to DS89C420!
   but the  err always is :

No response on reset from the 420
Make sure the serial cable is connected, that you are using
the right port, and have the correct voltage applied.
Loading file E:\HDQ\d.hex
131 % loaded. (1 retries)
197 % loaded. (2 retries)
263 % loaded. (3 retries)
328 % loaded. (4 retries)
Timed out, trying to get loader prompt and continue
File loading failed.

I can make sure  the serial cable is connected,and the right serial
port !
I don't know why !  If some have some advise .please send me a email !

Hi there
I was also having problems using the loader420.exe to load hex files to
a DS89C420 and found your email on the internet.
Were you able to resolve the problem? If so, please let me know what

Hi,

I use the DS89C420/ 440/ 450, too.

You have to erase the Microcontoller fist!! If you don't do this, the
micro can be distroid. Cause the HEX-code can be writen in wrong
adresses.

In the first time I had this problems too.
