Bei einem Freund, der eine Domäne xyzxyz.org besitzt, haben sich ein paar Scherzkekse aus China gemeldet, die behaupten, eine chinesische Firma wollte die Domänen xyzxyz.org.cn, xyzxyz.com.cn, xyzxyz.net.cn registrieren. Sie hätten festgestellt, dass er der Eigentümer von xyzxyz.de ist und wollten ihm anbieten, die .cn-Domänen für sich zu reservieren. Was die Burschen wollen, ist nicht schwer zu durchschauen... Sehe ich das recht, dass z.B. xyzxyz.org.cn nur eine Subdomain von org.cn ist und folglich org.cn eine gültige Domäne sein müsste, wenn eine Subdomain xyzxyz.org.cn angelegt wird? whois kann mit org.cn und com.cn jedenfalls nichts anfangen: $ whois org.cn the Domain Name you apply can not be registered online. Please consult your Domain Name registrar
org.cn und net.cn sind category domains, ähnlich wie co.uk. Bei cnnic gibt es eine Liste dieser Kategorien: http://cnnic.com.cn /IS/CNym/cnymyhfaq/#2_1 (ich musste ein Leerzeichen nach cn einfügen damit der Link nicht als Spam erkannt wird...)

Ja, solche E-Mails schlagen hier auch öfter auf. Das sind Domaingrabber, die die Dinger für viel Geld verkaufen wollen. Ablage P.
yepp... die Asiaten waren bei mir auch schon unglaublich scharf darauf, sich wolfgangrobel.de zu sichern... ich lachte hart.

Domaingrabber kaufen Domains auf Vorrat und auf eigene Rechnung, um sie dann teuer weiterzuverkaufen wenn jemand eine davon haben will. Diese hier legen keineswegs für irgendwas selbst Geld hin. Die scannen Domainlisten mit veröffentlichter Mailadresse und schreiben jeden an, ob er nicht auch die chinesische Version haben will. Auch als Chinese Domain Name Scam|Spam bekannt.
