Hallo,

Hat hier jemand einen guten Tip für mich?

Bei meinem Ausweichrechner, den ich relativ selten benutze, hat sich die 
Bildschirmauflösung verändert. Wo kann ich die wieder zurücksetzen?


So gut Linux Systeme auch sind, aber Benutzerfreundlichkeit sieht anders 
aus.

Keine Ahnung was du fuer einen Desktop hast, aber bei mir (Plasma) gehts 
unter Einstellungen -> Anzeige und Monitor. Duerfte bei anderen Desktops 
aehnlich sein.

Keine Ahnung was es da jetzt an der Benutzerfreundlichkeit zu maulen 
gibt.

Du hast eher den Bildschirm verändert. ;O)

Falls es eine Debian oder Debian ähnliche distribution ist:

Falls Du noch irgendwie an Deinen Desktiop kommt, hast Du bei Xfce z.B. 
die Möglichkeit oben links (default): Anwendungsmenü > Einstellungen > 
Anzeige

Bei anderen Desktopumgebungen wie Gnome oder KDE so ähnlich, aber halt 
Desktop und Einstellungsspezifisch.
Weil ich die nur selten verwende, kenne ich mich da auch nicht so aus.

Falls Du nur noch über eine Konsole reinkommst:
Als Root: "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" Reconfiguriert den X-Server.

Näheres erklärt das Handbuch, welches Du mit "man dpkg-reconfigure" auch 
ohne Rootrechte lesen kannst. Möglicherweise musst Du den Server vorher 
stoppen. Habe ich selber schon ewig nicht mehr gemacht.

Wenn ich mit Windows ein ähnliches Problem habe, muss ich auch immer die 
Kollegen fragen.

Momentan habe ich hier als Monitor ein BenQ Teil, das etwas zickig ist. 
Beim booten unter Debian existieren Kommunikationsprobleme, und es wird 
eine falsche Auflösung eingestellt. Sobald ich mich aber in den Desktop 
eingeloggt habe (so gut ist die Anzeige noch) werden die dort 
hinterlegten Einstellungen verwendet und alles ist gut, auch wenn das 
Teil von der Netzspannung weg war.

Beim Vorbesitzter unter Windows führte ein Booten nach Neuzuschaltung 
der Netzspannung dazu, dass der Monitor manuell resettet werden musste, 
Dann musste Windows nochmal Rebootet werden. Vermutlich war das meinem 
Vorbesitzer zu Benutzerfreundlich, und darum hat er mir den Monitor 
geschenkt. ;O)

Das sieht nach Einstellungen für das Fensterverhalten aus. Das hat 
nichts mit dem Monitor zu tun.

Für mich mit Xfce als Desktop sieht das so aus (siehe Anhang):

"Debian8-Xfce_MonitorEinstellungAendern-I.png" ("Anzeige" wählen)
und
"Debian8-Xfce_MonitorEinstellungAendern-II.png"

Wenn Du mehrere Monitore hast, verändert sich das Einstellfenster. Dann 
kannst Du dort Monitore wählen.

PS: Du kennst https://debianforum.de/forum/index.php (Falls das zu 
Deiner Distribution passt)? Das mit der Distribution sollte passen, weil 
(zumindest früher) Knoppix mal Debianbasiert war.
Mit Knoppix bin ich übrigens auch auf Linux angefixt worden. ;O)

Nach Reboot der selbe Käse...

Die geänderten Einstellungen sind weg.

Muß ich wirklich über die Boot Parameter gehen?

Ich kann mich daran erinnern das ich diesen Weg damals einschlug.

Hast du eine Datei /etc/X11/xorg.conf ? Was steht dort drin? Was 
passiert wenn du die Datei an einen anderen Ort verschiebst? Was steht 
in /var/log/Xorg.0.log? Was gibt xrandr aus? Hast du in letzter zeit 
irgendwelche Treiber installiert oder deinstalliert?

Man kann boot parameter auch persistieren. Bei grub bearbeitet man dazu 
/boot/grub/grub.cfg, bei grub2 schreibt man die Änderung in 
/etc/default/grub.cfg und macht dann update-grub

Nein, normalerweise gibt es bei DEs irgendwo ein grafisches 
Einstellfenster dafür. Alternativ kann man auch eine Xorg.conf 
erstellen, oder mit xrandr -s 1280x800 die Auflösung temporär ändern.

Deshalb kann man Dateien anhängen.

Ich würde versuchen die /etc/X11/xorg.conf config anzupassen. Entferne 
zuerst die Zeile:

Was noch offen ist, ist die Frage: Was war die Ursache für dieses 
Verhalten?


Wenn ein Editor vi heißt oder Leafpad oder dingsbums hoch drei, dann 
sträuben sich bei mir meine Nackenhaare. Ehrlich.

Wenn es vollständig läuft, dann ist ist zuverlässig...

Offenbar ist das Ermitteln der Auflösung des Bildschirms fehlgeschlagen. 
Das kann viele Ursachen haben, Vom Bildschirm über das Kabel bis hin zu 
Problemen mit dem AHCI/dem Motherboard oder Treiberdproblemen ist alles 
denkbar, wobei ich letzteres eigentlich ausschliessen würde da das Xorg 
log anzeigt das die herstellerspezifischen Radeon Treiber verwendet 
wurden. Man könnte noch versuchen ein anderes OS zu starten um 
Hardwareprobleme auszuschliessen. Eventuell enthalten die Kernel logs 
(dmesg) noch hinweise wo das Problem lag.

Laut den Logdaten handelt es sich um einen Phillips 231T, seine native 
Auflösung ist Full-HD, und er ist per VGA statt per DVI bzw. HDMI 
angeschlossen (*). Der X-Server hat sich dazu entschieden, den Monitor 
in seiner nativen Auflösung zu betreiben. Dein obiger Screenshot ist 
ebenfalls in Full-HD, also scheint das alles funktioniert zu haben.
Dein zweiter Screenshot, wo "alles klappt" ist dann in 1280x1024. Ist 
das die Auflösung, die du eigentlich willst? Die ist alles andere als 
optimal für diesen Monitor.

(*) Ich würde anraten, den Monitor nicht per VGA anzuschließen. Das Bild 
muss doch total matschig sein.

Warum denn das?

Ob "es vollständig läuft" liegt in mindestens 99% der Fälle am Bediener. 
Das ist allerdings keine Besonderheit von Linux, sondern gilt auch für 
nahezu jede andere Software, die mir bisher begegnet ist.

Der Monitorwechsel (TV) fand vor langer Zeit statt. Die mitgelieferten 
Anschlußkabel waren so sperrig und zu kurz. Daher ist es so wie es ist.

Wie lang dürfen die DVI bzw. HDMI Kabel denn sein?

Ob sich das denn lohnt? Die Bildqualität ist so schlecht auch micht.

Ich weiß nicht, ob es da eine offiziele Maximallänge gibt. Ich hatte 
auch schon Kabel im Einastz, die 15 Meter lang waren, allerdings auch so 
dick wie mein Daumen und entsprechend teuer.
