I'm looking for a specific and rare HDMI adapter for completing my DIY project

Hello to everyone.

I really need to buy the adapter you see in the picture below :

https://ibb.co/7tqHHYZf

Using two adapters is not good for me, you can understand the reason by giving a look at the picture below :

https://ibb.co/dRWgd1d

In the 3 picture below you see a HDMI port behind the display where should be attached the HDMI type A male…and the other side is the micro HDMI FEMALE port :

https://ibb.co/93B1SyFm

The problem is that I can't use two attached adapter because in this way the lenght between the board and the display will be too long and it's not good. At the moment I haven't found any other solution than find or asking someone to create it from scratch this adapter :

Please give a look at the image that I have attached. You will see where the problem is. There is an excessive distance between the board and the display simply because I'm already using two HDMI adapters...the same adapters that you suggested...HDMI type A male and the other side micro HDMI FEMALE.

Check the image that I have attached. On the top you can see the radxa cubie a7z and on the bottom the display. The radxa cubie a7z has a micro hdmi female port. The display has a HDMI type A female port.

I used two HDMi connectors and how much lenght them take. A phone with so much distance between the board and the display is not realistic and aesthetically unpleasant. And the overall lenght is excessive.

I consider a distance of 2 cm between the radxa board and the top of the display tolerable.

I'm looking for an adapter with a micro HDMI MALE plug to an HDMI type A male plug because the radxa board has one micro HDMI female port and the display one HDMI type A female port.

---> Something like this might be an option too: https://www.amazon.de/ADT-Link-FPV-Kabel-HDMI-Micro-Mini-Flachkamera-Stecker-Drahtleitung-FPV-Kamera/dp/B087J95WCY

It doesn't work. I've already contacted the company that makes those cables. I have bought a lot of those. The company don't make them less than 7 cm long. Even if I scrunched it up, the bump would be excessive and would take up space inside the case in terms of thickness.

Furthermore, a cable like that isn't made entirely of plastic; it has ferrite plates at the ends that don't bend.

It is : 2 cm ferrite + 3 cm plastic + 2 cm ferrite = 7 cm. 3 cm of plastic that could be bent is not much. Or it is too much ? I don't know.

The real problem is that the space that I should cover is very few (2.5 cm ; 2 cm is even better) compared to the total cable lenght (7 cm). You can't crumple 7 cm to make it 2.5 cm.

Hellö Salüh,

considering there may be different solutions, I will just concentrate on the adapter you asked for.

It is surely rare and seems to be almost unfindable. So there is one shop, Tabletoid.pl (like Senio) where it is listed as available, but that does not seem to be acquirable for you, as you had stated. The only other thing I found -when I navigated towards China (Baidu ect)- was a company, but seemingly B2B (200 minimum). In case you do not know about the company yet: Shenzhen Jintongda Electronics Co., Ltd. Perhaps that info can aid further searches or one can acquire a sample. Or one can find another solution, seems mechanically rigid

They have a presence/shop on Alibaba, but there they seemingly don't have that adapter there. Maybe they no longer offer it.

Buy a short HDMI plug and a short micro HDMI Plug

make all necessary connections with enameled copper wire
ensure the mechanical stability with epoxy glue and maybe some FR4 circuit board material.
If they don't have to be on the same plane, you can save length by mounting both parts on top of each other so that they overlap.

If you find parts for circuit board mounting, you can solder them yourself to a board with the necessary connections (JLCPCB).

In a "phone", you should not use hard adapters of any length, that is bound to cause trouble because of the leverage. Or, in short: don't, you'll rip off the plugs.

the Adapters i linked above are very small and can be connected with any length of ffc, also those can be folded. I'd say you won't get smaller with any adapter that has molded plastics.

Instead of this confusing image a clear description would have been helpful.

So you're not looking for an adapter HDMI-A-Male/HDMI-C-Female, but for a both-male-variant thereof.

Besides: This is a german-language only forum.

Some of the folks here are incapable of reading/writing in english, some just don't want to.

Either use a translation program or post your request on the english partner site: embdev.net.

I've already asked a quotation to them (for a lower amount of pieces). They didn't reply at all. I'm poor,I can't buy 200 adapters.

Sorry,I can't make a job like this. I don't have the tools and the competence. I'm not an electronic engineer. If I don't find the adapter,I should hire someone.

Take a look at the photo I attached. It's the item you're talking about, consisting of the two HDMI connectors and a cable connecting them. It is as short as possible, because companies don't make those FPC cable shorter. Total length is 10 cm. Now imagine if it could be curled from 10 cm to 2 or 2.5 cm (lengths indicated by the yellow lines in the picture). It can't be done. The cable is semi rigid. Isn't flexible / soft enough, and the total length is too long to go from 10 to 2 cm. And anyway, even if I did that, the cable in the middle can't even make a complete turn on itself to be blocked by an adhesive cable tie.

In case you asked(probably not) at made-in-china, there seems to be indication that that account is abandoned. And B2Bs often probably ignore smaller inquiries and maybe they do not even manufacture that item anymore. But was worth a try, of course. And surely my post never implied that you should purchase 200 adapters

So since you are pushing towards this solution, I'll just post any weird thing I find, maybe old stocks ect. And I don't know who is trustworthy (in any regard) or can be bargained with: https://warehousesoverstock.com/sf-cable-micro-hdmi-male-to-hdmi-male-adapter/ Considering the SF item at Amazon can not be ordered anymore

OK, so seems to be some hope there (contrary to previous "we do not carry this item anymore")?. then nevermind

Very thanks. Unfortunately they ship only within the USA.

Two posts quoted, so in case you mean the warehouseoverstock link: " Orders ships for free if shipped within the USA" kind of implied the possibility of shipping elsewhere, so I did not know, could not find any other reference to countries. And I did not know where you were located at that time.

If meant SF at Amazon :

Yeah, sometimes companies may give misleading answers to inquiries and just claim discontinuation

But all around interesting endeavor for that HDMI adapter and I wish you success
