Ich habe gerade Ubuntu auf meinem Beagleboard installiert.
Ich bin nach dieser Anleitung vorgegangen:

Das Rootfilesystem ist in der Standardkonfiguration "Ubuntu Desktop" 
erstellt.

Ich verwende die folgenden Bootargumente:

setenv bootargs console=ttyS2,115200n8 console=tty0 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 
rootdelay=2 rootfstype=ext3 rw omapfb.mode=dvi:1280x1024MR-24@60

Das Problem ist, dass der Bootvorgang nicht vollständig ausgeführt wird.
Nach "freeing init memory" passiert einfach nichts mehr. Es gibt weder 
auf dem DVI-Monitor, noch auf der seriellen Schnittstelle ein Terminal 
auf dem man sich anmelden könnte. /etc/event.d/ttyS2 habe ich wie in der 
Anleitung angelegt. Das sollte ein Terminal starten, es passiert aber 
nichts.

Und so sieht die Ausgabe auf der seriellen Schnittstelle aus (das wird 
auch auf dem DVI-Monitor angezeigt ab einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt):

Gibt es jemanden, der Ubuntu auf dem Beagleboard erfolgreich in Betrieb 
hat? Ich bin um jeden Hinweis froh, seit 6 Stunden probiere ich jetzt 
schon alles mögliche erfolglos.

er sollte eigentlich am Ende die Console öffnen.
Warum hast du console in den bootargs zweimal drin stehen ?

Das steht einerseits so in dem mitgelieferten Loaderscript, das beim 
Kernel dabei ist und macht andererseits auch Sinn, ich möchte nämlich 
eine Konsole auf der seriellen Schnittstelle und auf dem DVI-Monitor. Es 
hilft aber auch nicht, eine wegzulassen.

Ich habe auch schon probiert, anstatt Init etwas anderes per Bootarg 
aufzurufen. Ich habe ls aufgerufen und das wird ausgeführt, also ein 
listing von / angezeigt, aber auch das direkte Aufrufen von Init anstatt 
ls funktioniert nicht, es passiert einfach nichts.

Ich hab danach gegoogelt und dieses Problem tritt wohl bei embedded 
linux häufiger auf, aber nirgendwo steht, woran das liegt, oder wie man 
es beseitigt.

Eigentlich sollte ja ein grafischer Desktop geöffnet werden mit dem 
Rootfs, das ich erzeugt habe. Irgendetwas passiert wohl auch, es gibt in 
dem neuen Kernel eine LED für SD-Kartenzugriffe, die blitzt gelegentlich 
mal auf, aber die Konsole läuft nicht und der Desktop erst recht nicht.

Hast du ein funktionsfähiges Ubuntu System auf einem Beagleboard?
Angstrom hab ich schon getestet, aber die haben einige 
Interruptkonflikte und arbeiten dran, es gibt im Moment keine Version, 
die Bild und Ton im mplayer abspielen kann. Android läuft stabil, ist 
nur leider nicht zu gebrauchen, weil man es nicht mit der Maus bedienen 
kann, das braucht einen Touchscreen. Und jetzt wollte ich eben mal 
Ubuntu probieren, weil alle sagen, dass das so gut läuft auf dem 
Beaglebord.

Ich habe gerade mit den folgenden Bootargs eine Shell geöffnet.

setenv bootargs console=ttyS2,115200n8 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 
init=/bin/bash rootdelay=2 rootfstype=ext3 rw 
omapfb.mode=dvi:1280x1024MR-24@60

Interessant ist dabei, dass es keinen Benutzer am System gibt, auch 
nicht root. Es gibt auch keine passwd und group Dateien.

Meiner Ansicht nach ist da beim Erstellen des rootfs ein Fehler 
passiert, ich habe dort eindeutig einen Benutzer angelegt. Auch fehlen 
eine Menge Programme, die eigentlich drin sein müssen. X11 fehlt 
komplett und es gibt auch kein anderes Programm, das man später unter 
dem Desktop irgendwie brauchen könnte.
