Forum: Offtopic Physical shop for measuring instruments in Berlin?

Hello!,
First, sorry for writing in English, I'm working in my German, but that
will take time.

I want to buy a new oscilloscope but, unfortunately, I have had bad luck
ordering online (I receive defective devices, several times). So I would
like to go to a physical shop where try different models and test them
well before bringing one home.
I have been looking around, but I only found Conrad. Are there other
distributors for R&S, Keysight, etc for private clients around Berlin?

Thanks!
Felipe.-

I'm afraid you're 20 years too late for that kind of shop. There's a
very competent shop for components of every kind with Segor electronics,
but they only have a single handheld oscilloscope.

This site has an english speaking sister site https://embdev.net/

It might look a bit empty but everything you post there will
automatically appear here, too. And it gets automatically marked that
you want to write in English.

I am curious. Where did you order, and what were the defects?

Thanks for the answers. Yes, everything is online now, and it make sense
in my opinion. This is an exceptional case I guess.

Uff it was a nightmare, in short: I order in Reichelt one R&S RTC1002
(the promo bundle all included). The device had a stuck pixel so I send
it back for an exchange. After about one month I received another scope,
which had the same problem, then, I sent it back again, but now asking
for a reimbursement. After about another month I received the same
second scope but serviced, it had an official sticker and the
documentation informing that they changed the LCD. Well... the new LCD
also had a pixel stuck. I complain everywhere but R&S keep saying that
less than 3 defect pixels in an LCD are acceptable, nothing is specified
in the datasheet, though. In the end, I convince them to return the
device and get a reimbursement (Reichelt didn't like it, they wanted to
give me a credit note)

More details here:

I guess I will have to try online again,
Thanks!!
Felipe.-

What makes you believe, any other dealer could handle this problem?

Do you think you could detect a stuck pixel at any loc onscreen while
testing the scope in a shop?

Thanks Ove for the advice. I will contact them.

I do believe a good seller will try to find a way to handle the problem,
and if he/she cannot do it, will propose alternatives that maybe I'm not
aware of. A good sell makes everyone happy.

Yes I will, I did it three times already, at first sight. The pixels on
these LCDs are quite big.

Thanks again!
