Screenshots DS1102CD: http://www.mikrocontroller.net/attachment/38211/Last2.PNG (Signal selbst rauscht hier) http://www.mikrocontroller.net/attachment/23748/10MHz_Rigol_vs_Testec.png (equivalent time mode) http://www.mikrocontroller.net/attachment/23483/Seriell.zip (mit Bandbreitenbegrenzung)

Only the low-cost series are made by Rigol. (< 2000 US$). Agilent does not have its own low-cost hardware and software platform for entry level products, so this is why they are selling oscilloscopes manufactured by Rigol in that segment.
Danke Rainer
@rainer Keine FFT in long memory mode, zusatzliche TEK option. @anonymous Even the inner works of the midrange Agilent scopes is based upon pure Rigol hardware, no question about that. Even Rigols "ultrascope" soft is (almost) identical in looks and feel to Agilents PC-interface, just some extended (mostly math) functionality is added in Agilents PC-soft. I'm using both brands, so I can compare them first hand at work. Basically: The low upto midrange IS Rigol, so why pay more (double to triple) for just the name? Gruss
@Peter These are the four oscilloscopes of the Agilent "3000 Series economy oscilloscope". These four Agilent models are manufactured by Rigol: DSO3062A Oscilloscope, 60 MHz DSO3102A Oscilloscope, 100 MHz DSO3152A Oscilloscope, 150 MHz DSO3202A Oscilloscope, 200 MHz Datasheet: www.agilent.com http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/5989-2235EN.pdf I am not aware about other Agilent models manufactured by Rigol. Please let me know the model numbers. (Agilent and Rigol model numbers).
@anonymous Ever tried looking at the Agilent dso6000 series ? Not to forget the 8000 series ? Only looking at the (patented) "ultrazoom" logo on the front says it about all, then match those you find "by spec". Then try using the PC-interfaces, compare those when having found the matching "ultrazoom" types. Next option: compare the command list of those... Think it will take too much space here to list all numbers and ranges alltogether. Besides, not all types are distributed by Rigol as well as Agilent, some of them are only distributed by one of both so no side-by-side listing is possible for those. Or Agilent has another (customized) front for it what makes finding "Rigol inner workings" a bit more difficult just by visual comparision. O yes I do believe Agilent (Tektronix for that matter) does still do some development... It's just not clear any more upto what point, and where Rigol takes over completely. Leaving the question open: why pay two-three times more just for "the brand on the front"? Greetz
@Peter What you call ultrazoom is in reality "MegaZoom". The MegaZoom technology is patended by Agilent Technologies formally Hewlett Packard. Here you can see the datasheet of an old HP oscilloscope with MegaZoom technology: http://www.bpai.us/min/hp54600.pdf HP oscilloscopes have made history, so it is not surprising that you can find the same front and buttons in Chinese products. (Back to the "3000 Series economy oscilloscope" manufactured by Rigol) Why pay more for an oscilloscope of the Agilent 3000 Series? Customer service and availability of spare parts! Have you ever sent an oscilloscope for repair to Beijing?
I think someone has shares at Agilent here, really in the defending corner it seems :-D I really meant as I said "Ultrazoom", the "Megazoom" indicator is indeed patented by Agilent/HP. I see clearly two different expressions. The "Ultrazoom" indication on the other hand has its roots in (as you express it) Beijing, and is adopted in Agilent scopes as is, they may even use the logo. Just open one or more of these scopes besides one another if you don't believe the external/command-syntax similarities, and no more explanation will be necessary (unless wearing very dark sunglasses of course). Nope, didn't send any to Beijing upto now, repaired all myself (once in 28 years now for say eight to ten scopes I handled and/or owned on a daily base). Besides, if and when necessary it's upto the distributor to handle repair, just as it is for "branded types", so I'm still not willing to pay more for internally identical products just because there's "some brand" on them. Greetz
@Peter Read below and you will understand why the Agilent 3000 Series economy oscilloscopes are the only products manufactured by Rigol for Agilent. (Rigol DS5000 Series = Agilent 3000 Series). The DS5000 Series is the most performant oscilloscope series made by Rigol. No other new product, new technology, or merge or acquisition is listed below. The first bench top portable oscilloscope was commercialized by Rigol in 2002. =============================================== Source: http://www.rigolna.com/history.aspx History and Milestones of Rigol Founded in 1998, Rigol has been focusing on providing electronic design engineers with the high performance yet affordable Digital Oscilloscopes and other critical test and measurement tools, which were only available from a few venders at high prices before. Now Rigol's products and services are offered more than 42 countries/regions worldwide. 1998.7 Rigol Lab was founded in Beijing, China 1999.5 Rigol induced the first product, RVO2100, a high performance, low cost PC oscilloscope. 2000.10 Rigol Electronic Co., Ltd was founded. (Changed to Rigol Technologies, Inc from 2006.1.)The company started developing bench top portable Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, and Rigol DS3000 series made its debut in March 2002. 2001.1 Rigol received the certificate as an Innovative High-Tech Company from China Government. 2002.3 Rigol established on-house production center to ensure the product quality and customer satisfaction. 2004.2 Rigol raise the bar again by introducing Rigol DS5000 series. The new DSO delivers remarkable performance at the industry's lowest price. Rigol DS5000 series set a new benchmark for performance/price. 2006.4 Rigol's new 100,000 square feet R&D and Production Center grand open. Rigol introduced a bran new oscilloscope line -- Rigol DS1000 series. This highly integrated portable test tool redefines the boundaries of cost, features and size of Digital Storage Oscilloscopes. 2006.4 Rigol awarded ISO9001:2000 Certification for Quality Management.
The published history of the company name is well known... but I guess you missed some point here (or try to get around it) - comparision of rigol and agilents internal workings (=hardware platform!) - comparision of commands - user interfaces Its all telling tales... or should I say YELLING tales :-p Try looking at it from the other end: The eastern countries were/are cheap, and they sure as hell have the knowledge. Most western countries just BUY the eastern parts and use them rebranded. Rigol has been originally fabricating for long time, has so obtained the knowledge, and was granted the right to commercialize some of the scopes they originally designed for Agilent (some types Agilent didn't originally want). Only since commercializing themselves the currently known Rigol was founded. So there's alot more history behind the "history" you gave. So meanwhile roles have turned, rigol are using their own brand "Rigol", and Agilent actually BUYS some stuff (low to midrange stuff rigol designed) just to rebrand it 'coz it's alot cheaper that way as designing it themselves. Money is the drive here (again). Greetz
@Peter: Interesting information, but where can I get a scope similar to a Agilent dso6000 at a Rigol pricepoint? Jens
On the back of an Hewlett-Packard or Agilent oscilloscope you can read: MADE IN MALAYSIA History Agilent's pioneering spirit was kindled more than 60 years ago, when two engineers - Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard - invented the future in their garage. Guessed it already: probably one of the big bosses of Agilent/HP/whatever name... desperately holding up appearance <grin>

Yes, and the Pyramids were built by aliens not by the Egyptians!
Who says they weren't ? Guess the discussion is getting out of hand here, and too much advertising for waaaaay too expensive brands with the inner workings of eastern equipment... Bought and rebranded to be exact.
@Peter Peter (Peter273) your experience with Rigol is based on the DS1062CD you have ordered back in May from Ebay in China. Your post about the DS1062CD you got from China: http://www.circuitsonline.net/forum/view/60082 Dutch > English translation: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=www.circuitsonline.net%2Fforum%2Fview%2F60082&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=nl&tl=en Now that you are an expert about Rigol oscilloscopes and you have several times posted on this forum about them, why don't you post also the link to this forum thread? http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=663958 (Your post is on page 20 of the thread, user Peter273) The above thread is quite interesting for those actually interested in using the logic analyzer section of the Rigol DS1000 series. PS: The Rigol DS1000 series is not made or commercialized by Agilent.
Too much advertisement for expensive manufacturerers? Ok. I'am still missing an answer to the question asked some postings before: Where can I get a scope that is comparable to any Non-low-cost Scope from Agilen/Tek/...? There was a DSO6000 mentioned before. Ok, I want to buy one at a price level comparable to other eastern devices. Where is a source for such a scope? Every real offering will end this discussion shortly.
@Anonymous Don't try to translate this by Google, you won't get anything useable.
Read the whole thread below and draw your own conclusion. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=663958 Soon or later Dutch clogs and VW Golf cars will be made in China and we will all eat with chopsticks.
@mnr I'll answer this in English on behalf of AA (="Agilent Anonymous" :p) - No idea about the amount of Peters worldwide, can't help you there, sorry. I guess it'll be alot more as 273 though. - Yes, I bought myself a Rigol some time ago (was it may? might be, I'm not sure, thought it was earlier in the year but allah). Why not... while the inner works of Rigol is equal to the way too expensive Agilents, and for private use I'm unwilling to spend "lost money" for just "a brand". - Ever opened one yourself ? (requires using a screwdriver, that's some thingie with a handle on one end). Visual/functional comparision tells tales. - My experience with several brands comes from a repair workshop in electronic equipment, meaning I handled a screwdriver and compared several side-by-side - Yes, I do speak/read/write four languages...as do many people around here, that's one of the advantages of living around here I guess. - No I never wrote a driver for vista (upto now), can't see the link there. Might try it just for fun though since programming is one of my professional occupations (thereby expanding my language skills to Pascal, Basic, C, C++, Forth and .net)... :-p
The deliberate dissemination of false information is what I find disturbing, especially from someone who has probably never owned, used or opened an Agilent oscilloscope. If you read the post below you will see that Peter just BELIEVES that the Rigol DS1042CD and DS1062CD are oscilloscopes of the Agilent 6000 series. Source: http://forums.cabling-design.com/electronics/Advice-oscilloscope-for-hobbyist-72464-4.htm#74145 > Personally, I'd go for a Rigol, to be more specific a > Rigol DS1042CD or a DS1062CD > http://www.rigolna.com > They are in fact rebranded to be "agilent", I believe they > are the agilent 6000 series without the price tag and more > standard options > cheerz Just to remove any doubt, below are the physical size and weight of the oscilloscopes that Peter BELIEVES are the same. Rigol DS1000 Series Width: 303mm Height: 154mm Depth: 133 mm Weight: 2.3 kg Agilent 6000 Series Width: 354mm Height: 188mm Depth: 282 mm Weight: 4.9 kg @Peter No need to open these oscilloscopes to see that they are different products! And, to use your own words, no more explanation will be necessary (unless wearing very dark sunglasses of course).
@ Agilent Anonymous Yep, I can read those specs, just like everybody else can.... I believe you mentioned earlier "Rigol 1000 versus Agilent 3000 being the same", then why start comparing Rigol 1000 to Agilent 6000 now to illustrate your point that those are different?? Sounds somewhat silly, doesn't it ? Just as easy can I say that Opel Kadett and Opel Astra have different specs, sizes and weights, or compare an apple with a pear just because both are green, or compare a Honda Amigo with a Honda Flat Six to say they have different specs... its just what one compares. (Notice I have chosen the same brands to make a point here!) I leave it to those with enough technical skills (that is: able to compare by at least being able to use a screwdriver and interpret the deeper inner works) and no shares in Agilent for you are just coming here to advertise to everybody to spend a load of money for internally identical devices. I know what I see/repair/use on a frequent if not daily base, and decide upon that which SAVED me lots of money by not choosing "just a name". And yes, I own a Rigol... problems with that ? (I guess yes, I obviously didn't support AA's shares :-p ) @mrn Ich habe gar kein anstoss genommen an deine posting also kein problem.

Anonymous wrote: > The deliberate dissemination of false information > is what I find disturbing, I find it disturbing that an Agilent affiliate, marketing agency, employee, or someone else with a strong relation to Agilent, sees the need to snoop around and anonymously accuse people of deliberately disseminating false information. Whats your next step? Legal threats? So Mr. Anonymous, care to come forward with your real identity, or are you just trolling in the name of Agilent? You talked about HP and Agilent values and culture. Well, ok, you just copy-pasted some hogwash from an Agilent pamphlet. But nevertheless, do the Agilent values and the culture include to post commercial advertising and accusations to a non-commercial discussion board? Do they include to do this anonymously? You have zero credibility as long as you anonymously post Agilent propaganda and accuse people. Your behavior doesn't convince people to consider Agilent. In fact, I would think that you managed to actively drive people away from considering Agilent.

(www.hameg.com) Solide deutsche Qualität, ohne Lüfter, also totale Stille.
Meine Erfahrungen mit Pinsonne waren also positiv.
There are limits to what you can do with off-the-shelf FPGAs and DSPs. @pnuebergang I am just an user of oscilloscopes and I have no affiliation with any company manufacturing or selling oscilloscopes. I prefer to stay anonymous. Thanks.
@jens I believe the best tip was already given earlier: Look around for the patented "ultrazoom" logo... Regards
Beste Grüße an Euch alle.

Nein.
