Hallo Theodor,
nach einigem Mailverkehr mit Atmel bezüglich des oben geschilderten
Problems habe ich dann, da mir der Support auch nicht weiterhelfen
konnte, mein Windows XP komplett neu aufgesetzt (grrrr....) um das
Studio wieder zum laufen zu kriegen. Jetzt funktioniert es wieder.
Leider ist das aber auf Dauer auch keine Lösung, falls das gleiche
Problem wieder auftriit. Im folgenden ergänze ich mal die Tipps, welche
mir der Atmelsupport hat zukommen lassen:
Mail 1:
Please try the following:
Download and install the file msxml3usa.msi from Microsoft at this
address:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c0f86022-2d4c-4162-8fb8-66bfc12f32b0&DisplayLang=en
Mail 2:
A full uninstall of AVR Studio (all versions) and removing
the installation directory and atmel branch from the registry, and then
install of the latest AVR Studio, is what I recommend to ensure a
"clean" installation. But I see that you have tried this already...
One thing worth to try is to upgrade your xml-parser from Microsoft.
(This helps with another known problem.)
Install the Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack 4 or later
(SP4). AVR Studio 4 uses the XML parser extensively. This package can

I have forwarded your problem to the software development group. You
will be contacted as soon as we hear from them.
Mail 4:
Try closing all other applications and services and run AVR Studio
completely alone. Perhaps there is a conflict with other applications.
If you have no luck, try uninstalling AVR Studio once again, and remove
all traces of it from the Windows Registry. If you are still
experiencing problems, please contact us again.
