"Error creating Compiler" im AVR Studio

Hi,

kleine "große" Frage zur AVRStudio 4.07.

Ich benutze seit ca. 3 Monaten das AVRStudio für meine Projekte. Nach
der Installation lief das Studio erst einmal hervorragend. Seit
neuestem bekomme ich die Fehlermeldung "Error creating compiler" im
Output Fenster (dort wo sonst "Loaded plugin STK500" steht). Wenn ich
mein Projekt direkt ins Studio lade und Compilieren möchte erhalte ich
die Meldung "Could not connect to compiler".

Nach einer Deinstallation und erneuten Installation tritt der gleiche
Fehler wieder auf. Auch ein entfernen aller Registry Einträge nach der
Deinstallation und eine erneute Installation brachten keinen Erfolg.

Ich benutze das Studio unter WinXP Prof. Hat jemand eine Idee woran das
liegen könnte oder hatte schon jemand den gleichen Effekt und eine
Lösung parat.

Das gleiche Problem besteht im übrigen auch, wenn ich wieder die
Version 4.06 installiere. :-((

I recommend getting the latest version of AVRStudio:
http://www.atmel.com/dyn/products/tools.asp?family_id=607

You'll have to uninstall any previous version 4.x of AVRStudio before
doing this installation. Any older version, e.g. V3.56 can remain
installed without conflicting with the new version.

Ich habe ein identisches Problem unter W2K prof. Allerdings nur bei SP4.
Bei der alten Sicherheitskopie (SP1) läuft alles wie gewünscht,
ebenfalls bei XPHome SP2.
Mit einem dll-Verfolgungsprogramm zeigen sich einige gescheiterte
Aufrufe aus der msxml(3).dll an den Kernel - das Update der XML
Bibliotheken (wie oben beschrieben) hat nichts verändert. Wenn ich
Microsoft richtig verstehe, sind die Bibliotheken übrigens von 2003.
Um nicht immer neu booten zu müssen, wäre ich an einer Lösung für
dieses Windows-Problem sehr interessiert.

Hallo Theodor,

nach einigem Mailverkehr mit Atmel bezüglich des oben geschilderten
Problems habe ich dann, da mir der Support auch nicht weiterhelfen
konnte, mein Windows XP komplett neu aufgesetzt (grrrr....) um das
Studio wieder zum laufen zu kriegen. Jetzt funktioniert es wieder.
Leider ist das aber auf Dauer auch keine Lösung, falls das gleiche
Problem wieder auftriit. Im folgenden ergänze ich mal die Tipps, welche
mir der Atmelsupport hat zukommen lassen:

Mail 1:
Please try the following:

Download and install the file msxml3usa.msi from Microsoft at this
address:

Mail 2:

A full uninstall of AVR Studio (all versions) and removing
the installation directory and atmel branch from the registry, and then
install of the latest AVR Studio, is what I recommend to ensure a
"clean" installation. But I see that you have tried this already...

One thing worth to try is to upgrade your xml-parser from Microsoft.
(This helps with another known problem.)

Install the Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack 4 or later
(SP4). AVR Studio 4 uses the XML parser extensively. This package can

I have forwarded your problem to the software development group. You
will be contacted as soon as we hear from them.

Mail 4:
Try closing all other applications and services and run AVR Studio
completely alone. Perhaps there is a conflict with other applications.
If you have no luck, try uninstalling AVR Studio once again, and remove
all traces of it from the Windows Registry. If you are still
experiencing problems, please contact us again.

Keine der oben angesprochenen Lösungen ist so richtig hilfreich,
leider.
